We're stocked full of merchandise - including many new designs in our Willie Nelson T-shirts, bandanas, mugs and much more. And now, we even have a new custom, laser engraved Willie Nelson guitar made exclusively for us by Copley Instruments! The recently updated Willie Nelson and Friends Museum displays and exhibits honor the likes of Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Porter Wagoner, Faron Young, the Wilburn Brothers, George Jones, Webb Pierce, Mel Tillis, Jeannie Seely and many, many others. So if you really want to experience some of the history that made country music so popular and turned Nashville into "Music City USA" - then stop in and see us here at the Willie Nelson and Friends General Store and Museum real soon! If you can't make it to Nashville in person, then visit us and shop at the General Store on the internet - we're now open and "ready for business!" Live music filled the air at the Willie Nelson and Friends Museum and General Store during the CMA Fan Fest.
We're recently celebrated the 2011 CMA Fan Fest that took place here in Nashville during early June. Nashville was alive with great live music all over town and it was no exception here at the Willie Nelson and Friends Museum. We featured David Langley, the great singer and guitar player and former member of the Buckaroo's who played with Buck Owens. David also toured with Willie Nelson and many other country greats. Learn more about (and listen to) David Langley here...
On Saturday and Sunday during the CMA festival we showcased a great local group named the "Meltones". They played great old school country music along with some bluegrass classics. So if you missed us this year in Nashville be sure and stop by and see us next year - or sooner! NOW OPEN! The Les Leverett "Grand Ole Opry Stars" Photographic Exhibit at the Willie Nelson & Friends Museum.
Our good friend, Les Leverett, was the primary photographer for the Grand Ole Opry and WSM Radio and TV for over 32 years. During his career, Les Leverett got to know and photograph the giants of country music. You can see, feel and experience his passion for country music when viewing the images he's captured over the years. But, until you can visit us in person - enjoy a "sneak preview" of just a few of Les' many candid shots of the legends... Click your favorites and jump back into the early days of country music and see some great example photos of stars like Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Merle Haggard, George Jones, Tammy Wynette, Porter Wagoner, Loretta Lynn, Waylon Jennings, and many, many others.
